Nightly breaker tripping traced to a failing water heater element
Mirdif
The problem
Whole-house RCD tripping most evenings, restored by resetting. The pattern had been building over several weeks.
Diagnosis
Circuits isolated and tested individually. Insulation resistance readings identified an earth fault on the water heater circuit, confirmed at the heater element rather than in the cabling.
Work completed
Water heater element replaced, connections re-terminated, circuit re-tested, and the distribution board labelled correctly during the same visit.
Materials & solution
Replacement heating element, new terminations, board labelling.
Result
Fault cleared with test readings recorded before and after, so the result is evidenced rather than assumed. No further tripping reported.
