Recurring hairline cracks fixed properly before repainting

The problem
Hairline cracking along wall and ceiling junctions returning after each repaint, plus patchy sheen where earlier touch-ups had been done.
Diagnosis
Cracks were surface-filled without opening or priming, and touch-up patches had never been primed to a uniform base, causing visible flashing under daylight.
Work completed
Cracks opened out, filled with the appropriate filler, taped where movement warranted it, primed, then finished. Full walls recoated rather than spot-patched to remove sheen variation. Furniture and flooring protected throughout in an occupied home.
Materials & solution
Flexible filler and jointing tape, full-surface primer, low-odour interior finish.
Result
Uniform finish inspected under daylight before sign-off, with the crack repairs no longer visible and no recurrence reported since.
