Solid wood, veneer or laminate — it decides everything
The single most useful thing to know before calling anyone is what your furniture is actually made of. Solid wood repairs extremely well: joints reglue, surfaces sand and refinish, and a good repair is invisible. Veneer — a thin real-wood skin over a substrate — repairs well at edges and small chips but cannot be sanded deeply. Laminate over chipboard, which is what most built-in wardrobes and kitchen carcasses in Dubai are, cannot have its surface repaired invisibly — but its hinges, runners, fixings and alignment absolutely can, and that is what fails first anyway.

Built-in cabinets and freestanding furniture are different jobs
Built-in wardrobes and kitchen cabinets fail at their hardware: concealed hinges wear, screws pull out of chipboard carcasses, and doors drop out of line one by one until nothing closes cleanly. The carcasses themselves are usually sound, which is why realignment and reinforcement beat replacement on cost by a wide margin.
Freestanding furniture fails at its joints and surfaces — a loosened chair frame, a table with movement in the base, a scratched or water-marked top. Those are traditional carpentry repairs: cleaned, re-glued, clamped and refinished rather than patched.

That movement loosens joints, backs screws out of chipboard, and pulls doors out of alignment faster than in stable climates. Sun through large windows fades and dries finishes on anything standing near the glass.
